Mu Alpha Theta National Mathematics Honor Society

Mu Alpha Theta, the National High School and Two-Year College Mathematics Honor Society, was formed in 1957 at the University of Oklahoma.  We are dedicated to inspiring a keen interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics in high school and two-year college students. As of June 2017, more than 110,000 students are Mu Alpha Theta members at more than 2,400 schools in the United States and in 20 foreign countries. 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Mu Alpha Theta Members must agree to and perform as leaders at Clear Falls High School.
  • Members must be passing all classes to participate in any MAT activity. Progress reports/report cards will be verified by the MAT Sponsor to confirm eligibility.
  • MAT members will be put on probation for the first behavioral violation resulting in ISS and then dismissed thereafter for any further behavior violations resulting in ISS. Any violation resulting in OSS will be an automatic dismissal.
  • MAT members are required to maintain a GPA of 3.0 based on a 4.0 scale.
  • MAT members must participate in community service projects/club activities every semester.
  • Minimum of 6 community service hours in order to graduate with MAT honors.

Meetings will be held on the first Friday of every month in room 5417 with Mrs. Rieves serving as the Chapter Sponsor.
